# AI answers and AI studio

## Answers for readers

On the portal and in the widget, readers can ask a question in their own words. The AI:

1. searches your **published** articles (it never uses drafts or the open internet),
2. writes a short answer in English,
3. cites the sections it used as numbered links `[1]`, `[2]`,
4. says it doesn't know when your articles don't cover the question. Those questions go to *Analytics → Content gaps* so you can write the missing article.

Readers can rate each answer. AI answers run on Surge's own AI server at no charge, with no monthly cap that switches them off.

## Answer quality dashboard

*Analytics → AI quality* shows how often the AI could answer, how many answers had citations, thumbs up and down, and the top unanswered questions.
