# Custom domain, team and billing

## Custom domain

In *Portal settings → Custom domain* enter the domain (for example `help.example.com`) and add the CNAME record shown there at your DNS provider. HTTPS is set up automatically once the record resolves.

## Team and roles

Invite people in *Workspace → Team*.

| Role | Can |
| --- | --- |
| Owner | Everything, including billing and deleting knowledge bases |
| Admin | Settings, team, readers and SSO, publish without approval |
| Editor | Write, publish (unless approval is required), import |
| Reviewer | Comment, approve or request changes |
| Viewer | Read drafts and analytics |

There is no limit on team members, and readers are always free and unlimited.

## Pricing and billing

HelpCenterKit is free. You pay only what third-party services cost us, at cost, with no markup. Today the only such service is the optional **Claude add-on** for writing guides from screenshots, which is off until an admin turns it on in *Workspace → Billing*.

*Workspace → Billing* shows every metered call, its tokens and its exact cost, and the amount due. Nothing is charged until you pay a balance (by card, or through Razorpay); balances under $1.00 carry over. See the [pricing page](/pricing).

## Export and leaving

You own your content. *Portal settings → Export and backup* gives you a PDF of the whole knowledge base, a Markdown ZIP and a full JSON backup at any time.
