# Languages and translations

Source: https://helpcenterkit.com/docs/en/languages

A knowledge base can publish in as many languages as you need. Pick them in *Portal settings → General*.

## Indian languages

You can publish in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Assamese and Urdu (right-to-left), plus 20+ global languages. Pick the **Noto** font in *Look and feel* for the best rendering of Indian scripts.

## Adding a translation

In the editor, open the language menu, choose a new language and pick *write it myself*. The new language starts as a draft with the same structure as the source, and goes through the same review and publishing steps.

:::note
AI features (answers, writing, SEO) work in English for now, and AI translation is switched off. Translations are written by your team.

## Out-of-date translations

When the source article changes, each translation is flagged **out of date** on the *Translations* page until it is updated, so your team always knows which pages need attention.
