# Reviews, approvals and scheduling

Each article language moves through four states: **Draft → In review → Approved → Published**.

## Asking for a review

In the editor choose **Request review**, pick a reviewer (or leave it open to any reviewer) and add a note. Reviewers see the request on the *Reviews* page and can approve or ask for changes with a comment.

## Requiring approval

In *Portal settings → Publishing workflow* turn on **Editors need an approved review before publishing**. Editors then can't publish until a reviewer approves. Admins and owners can always publish, so an urgent fix is never blocked.

## Scheduling

Set a publish or unpublish date and time in the article's settings panel. Useful for launch-day articles and for taking down a temporary notice.

## Content review reminders

Set *Remind owners to review articles every N days*. When an article is due, its owner gets an email listing what needs checking, and the article appears under *Reviews → Content review due*. Publishing the article again resets the timer.

## Stale articles

The *AI studio* lists articles that are probably out of date, using four signals together: a passed review date, age, "not helpful" votes, and AI answers citing the article that readers down-voted. One click drafts the fix for a person to check.
